Our Local Roots
Hello my name is Jeremy Tobin and I am the owner and operator of Tobin Tree Service. I live in Maple City in Leelanau County with my wife of 15 years and daughter. We moved to Traverse from the Grand Rapids area in March of 2016. My Grandparents on my fathers side were born and raised in Leelanau County. My wife’s Grandmother was also born and raised in Leelanau County. It doesn’t take long to find The Tobin, Glacier or Peplinski name’s as part of the history of the area. We now live within a few miles of where my Grandpa and my wife’s Grandma went to school together.
In 2015, after the “big storm”, I was splitting my time between here and Grand Rapids and it was time to make the move. I had previously lived in Leelanau before meeting my wife. It only took me 10 years to convince her to move back. Rebecca is actively involved in the business as she takes care of our home and the education of our daughter. I often say I have the easy job. Our daughter also helps out with the business when she accompanies me on estimates. She needs a few more years before she can run a saw. But she actively aspires to climb trees.
We are heading into our 9th year as Tobin Tree Service. Trees have always been a passion of mine and I enjoy what I do everyday. I have had a few different jobs that have helped shape me into the business owner I am today.
If you are looking for a large company, I am not that. But what I do offer is a hands on approach coupled with the desire to be an effective communicator.
